Update on My Golf Handicap
It’s been a while since my last update, but I’ve probably put in about 20 rounds this year already. My best round was 88 at Laurel Hill, and my worst round was 109 at Westfields. Generally my bad rounds start with my driver going out of whack, and ending with my horrendous short game. I’m starting to realize that I don’t put enough time into my short game. Definitely a must. According to golfshot, my handicap sits at 14.8, pretty much unchanged from last year….uggggghhh…
I went up to South riding the other day by myself looking to play a quick round. The first three holes, I went fairway to green, but on holes 2 and 3, I three putted both holes. Both first putts were no more than 20-30 feet. Three putting is just unacceptable. I know it happens, but when I’m averaging 3-5 three putts every round, there’s no way that I’ll be able to shoot in the 80s consistently. I was 2 over after 5, but on the 6th hole, I brought out my 3 wood, and shanked two balls off the tee and that was the end of it. I ended up getting a 10 on that par 4. F me.
Anyways, I busted up my shoulder playing soccer last week, so I haven’t been able to play over the past week. I’m supposed to be playing Longaberger in Ohio on Saturday. Should be exciting. I played there last year, and it ate me up. Hopefully, I’ll get redemption this time around. I think we got the $69 deal off of golfnow.com.
